Bordering on the Sri Gopesvara Mahadeva temple, Vrinda Kunja is one of the most extraordinary holy places of Vrindavan. Lord Siva recieved here the mercy of Vrindadevi to be transformed into a Gopi and to be introduced to Krishna in his Rasa Lila. Sri Krishna posted Lord Siva with the new name GOPESVARA in this place to be the gatekeeper for the holiest of all Lilas, the Maha Rasa of Lord Krishna. Sanatana Gosvami came daily to see Gopesvara.
